Sorry I didn't get anything up yesterday. August was the first month this year that I missed posting every day. I really hope I can keep this blog updated daily for the rest of the year, but I'm not making any guarantees. Thanks a lot for all your comments! It's your comments that really keep me wanting to post ... it's so cool knowing that someone enjoys my photography.

This one is a little out of focus or something, but I still like it because it reminds me of a fantastic day with my son on a camping trip we took up the coast of California and Oregon. This was really a perfect day. The place is called Battery Park Lighthouse, located in Crescent City, at the northern border of California. If you google it, you'll see tons of pictures and info about the place. I come from a town a couple of hours north of here.

  What is it about your shots that just makes me stop and study them? This is no exception. You've composed or cropped this perfectly. It has life. The foreground motion and the depth of the background are so right on this. had the foreground rock been all sharp, it would have conflicted with the lighthouse as the primary focal point.
